About Tyler

A multi-faceted practice

Tyler Harrelson has a multi-faceted practice. He practices primarily in the area of business and personal financial consulting, which touches just about everything in life that has anything to do with finances. Due to his broad education ranging from insurance to asset management, Tyler has experience in dealing with virtually every inevitability within a life span.

He has experience developing labor burdens for cost restructuring, corporate and partnership tax planning, employee benefit design and taxation, retirement plan design and management, deferred compensation programs, closely held family business estate planning, worker’s compensation insurance, wealth accumulation, asset management, asset protection and distribution, college planning, senior care issues including VA and Medicaid public benefits, and commercial and residential financing. Those are just a few of the areas that he advises clients in. Tyler also advises clients on an ongoing basis with regard to the asset allocation and market timing of their individual portfolios while maintaining a watchful eye on new tax legislation that can affect a client’s situation.

Tyler is a graduate of Florida State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the Department of Risk Management and Insurance. After graduation in 1993, he joined his father’s captive General Agency affiliated with Minnesota Life Insurance Company, fostering a strong conviction for personal financial planning built on sound life and health insurance principles.

After nearly a decade as a Registered Representative — while furthering his education through the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, and The Institute for Business and Finance in La Jolla, CA — he grew a fondness for investment management. He left what was then Ascend Financial Services Network, Inc. to become an independent financial advisor affiliated with SagePoint Financial, Inc. In 2018, following the DOL’s Fiduciary Standards rulemaking, Tyler formed his own Registered Investment Advisory firm and now works exclusively in the best interest of his clients as a fee-only fiduciary advisor.
