Celebrating Black History Month

Black History Month Celebration: Honoring Black Americans’ Contributions

Every February, Americans observe Black History Month celebration, a time to recognize and honor the achievements, struggles, and contributions of Black citizens throughout U.S. history. This celebration highlights the impact of Black leaders, artists, activists, and everyday heroes whose work has shaped the nation.

Honoring Activism

Whether it’s the deeply-needed activism of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., or the cultural contributions of authors like Nora Zeale Hurston, America owes much to her black citizens.

Remembering Inspiring Words

This month, let the words of Thurgood Marshall remind us that when Americans “…recognize the humanity of our fellow beings, we pay ourselves the highest tribute.”1
